Happy Birthday Westmont Theatre

September 5, 2008

Today is the Westmont Theatre’s 81st Birthday.

We here at the Westmont Theatre Blog Site created a short video to commemorate her special day…

A fitting farewell…

May 11, 2008

If you were driving down Haddon Ave last night, you probably saw the crowds of people in the theatre’s parking lot for ToHIP’s sponsored “Movie Night” screening of “Grease”.

Well…if you showed up early to “movie night”, you were treated the the final screening of The Grand Old Lady.

We feel its a fitting farewell to the current version of the film by showing it one last time in the theatre’s parking lot. In fact last night’s screening was just 1-year and 4 days after its premiere at the Ritz and there still were people who came out to see it for the first time. People were coming up to me afterwards and shared their stories of going to the theatre, etc…, THEY ALL HOPED THE THEATRE WOULD BE REVITALIZED!

SPECIAL THANKS TO ToHIP FOR ASKING US TO PARTICIPATE!

“Cleanup the Westmont” Video Podcast

March 16, 2008

Hello Everyone!

The weather was beautiful on Saturday. Good cleaning weather, ha-ha.  Given the limited number of people we were only able to clean the debris, the box office, the sidewalk and the Haddon Ave. curbing.

No worries, we’ll clean another section on the next…”Cleanup the Westmont” event.

Special Thanks

March 16, 2008

Cameraman and editor, Travis Greene, did an amazing job filming today’s cleanup and editing the video podcast together.

THANK YOU TRAVIS!!!

Westmont Blog crew is cleaning the Westmont exterior on Saturday

March 13, 2008

Hello Everyone!

We’ve received some solid support in regards to the debris discussion.

The Westmont Blog Crew is going to remove the debris around the fencing, sweep the sidewalk on Haddon Ave., cleanup the parking lot (as best as we can given the size) and try to remove some of the trash from the rear lot.

If your around on Saturday, please stop by and lend a hand

-as the old adage goes: “Many hands make lite work!”

We’ll be there promptly at 10am and we’ll have limited cleaning supplies with us, so any assitance (trashbags, brooms, gloves, etc..) would really help!

Our video crew will also be there filming the cleanup.  Feel free to share your thoughts on the Westmont for our video podcasts too!

Thanks,

Westmont Theatre Blog Crew
